Old Assumptions, New Realities

The West Coast Poverty Center has organized its Seminar Series and upcoming Conference around the topic of Economic Security for Working Families in the 21st Century. Many policies that seek to address this issue are based on assumptions that are not necessarily in line with the new realities of poverty in the United States. The West Coast Poverty Center invites applications for its 2008-09 Dissertation Fellowships

This program supports outstanding research on poverty, poverty-related issues, and anti-poverty policy in the U.S. by doctoral students at the University of Washington. Quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-method approaches are welcome as are submissions from scholars in any discipline.
